Super Bowl Champions will be Honored in Parade through Downtown New Orleans

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Charlie Melancon (LA-03) will congratulate the New Orleans Saints’ players, coaches and staff for winning Super Bowl XLIV at the “Black and Gold” Parade through downtown New Orleans.  Sunday’s championship game was the Saints’ first Super Bowl appearance in the franchise’s 43-year history.

Rep. Melancon Votes to Restore Fiscal Discipline
Votes for Pay-as-you-Go Budgeting Legislation, Opposes Raising Debt Ceiling

WASHINGTON— Congressman Charlie Melancon (LA-03) voted today in support of a critical step towards restoring our nation’s fiscal health by voting for pay-as-you-go (PAYGO) legislation, which ensures that all new spending is paid for.  The bill passed by a vote of 233 to 187. 

On a previous vote, Congressman Melancon voted against raising the debt limit by another $1.9 trillion (H. Res. 1065).
